This coffee comes from Chelichele, a high-altitude coffee-growing area in Yirgacheffe, southern Ethiopia.
The coffee is grown by smallholder farming families on small family plots around the villages of Worka Chelichele. These farmers grow coffee alongside other crops and traditionally pick the ripest cherries by hand.
The farmers bring their freshly harvested cherries to the Worka Chelichele Washing Station, where the coffee is carefully sorted and processed.
The coffee grows at approximately 1,945–1,970 metres above sea level.
The combination of high altitude, fertile soil, cool temperatures and traditional farming gives the coffee its distinctive Ethiopian character — bright fruit, floral aromas and exceptional sweetness.
For this coffee, the cherries are processed naturally.
After picking, the whole coffee cherries are carefully sorted and laid on raised drying beds. They slowly dry in the sun while the fruit remains around the coffee seed.
This process helps create the coffee's characteristic sweet, fruity and jam-like flavours
